Kurt Wunder coached here at Rizzo Rink for over 10 years. Kurt sadly passed away from cancer in August, 2019. Kurt was a good, decent man with an uncompromising sense of integrity. Kurt had an endearing personality that fostered bonds with the players that he coached. Kurt fully believed in our mission here at Rizzo Rink in not only teaching the sport of hockey to kids but also helping develop their character, passing on values, learning sportmanship and coming to grips with winning and losing gracefully.Â
We feel this scholarship is the perfect way to honor Kurt and his memory by removing costs as a potential barrier for any kid who wants play the sport of hockey which Kurt loved.Â
